The collection consists of an extensive survey of railway passenger service in Georgia dating from the early 1800s. The survey was compiled by Hugh M. Comer of Macon, Georgia and the materials relate to rails into and out of Macon. Also included is a scrapbook of railroad abandonments in Georgia which were compiled by Mr. Comer.

The collection consists of one letter from R.H. Everett of the J.W. Worthington and Company, a railroad construction company of Birmingham, Alabama proposing a rail connection in North Georgia. He states that a line that can be linked to Birmingham and then Kansas City through North Georgia, particularly with a line running to a seaport, could be very profitable.
